Pearly White Smiles

It was pretty cool spending Christmas Day on the beach. The ocean view was great because the waves were up to 20 foot high. The girls were kinda bummed because we did not allow them to spend much time in the water, the waves were just too dangerous. They actually closed most of the beaches on the North Shore because of the big waves.

I took Gipsy and Cheyenne to the dentist this morning and they had a perfect check up.

Bret got his nose stuck in a book, he is studying for Master. I hope he makes it, lots more moolah for me to spend...

Christmas Eve

The girls had a very hard time waiting for the day to end, knowing they would get to open their presents in the evening. Impatiently waiting through dinner, clean up and then all the grown ups had to talk and eat desert. But it was definitely worth the wait, they were so happy with all that they got. My ears still hurt from all the screams of joy and surprise.

We all had a wonderful Christmas. Santa was totally nice to everyone. He will be arriving to drop the presents for the girls and to fill their stockings and who knows perhaps even I and Bret might get a little something…

I put in new pictures

Christmas is Here

Merry Christmas

We get to open Presents this evening!!!! Girls are happy

Christmas Break

Yeah!!! I have finally finished school for the year of 2005. I am pretty sure that I do believe that I Aced the Microbiology Class, History I am not so sure about other than I most likely passed it.

I put up the Christmas tree (totally fake) up early this year and we decorated it last Sunday, see pictures.
I bought some colorful Christmas lights to put up outside, found a couple of left over nails on the outside wall and I used them for the lights to go on. Bret said the lights looked like they were put up with out a rime or reason by someone drunk of their ass. He is more than welcome to fix them if he wants to, my guess it that he wont.

Life

I am getting pretty frustrated, tomorrow it will be two weeks since I took the midterm exam for the History class I am taking and I still have not gotten it graded. Grrrrrr...! History is just driving me nuts, I ordered the Icelandic Sagas from Amazon a couple of weeks ago because I have a research paper to write and a power point presentation to do, but that darn book will not get here. Stressssssing!!!!

Things are getting interesting at work, this morning we had a meeting. The hours are getting cut for two of the adult supervisors. It is being left up to the supervisors who is gonna take the cut. This job is extremely stressful and instead of giving a raise and hiring more people the hours are being cut, making it harder and more stressful to work I wonder how many people will show up for work tomorrow…

Had a test in microbiology last night, I will find out Monday how that went.

School, school, school

A four day weekend has just begun for the girls, I on the other hand still have class to attend this evening.
I got my test results from last week, got another *A* in micro I was not expecting it, was expecting a C at the most.
I am still waiting to hear what I got for the midterm test in History; the fact that it was handwritten by a horrible speller with out the help of a handy dandy spell-check program could possibly interfere with my grade.

Only nine more days until the fourth Harry Potter movie hits the theater.

Happy (Yesterday) Halloween

Yesterday was Halloween and my girls went Trick or Treating, they had lots of fun and brought home way too much candy. Too bad I am off candy these days because it sure looks tempting!!!

I have a microbiology test tomorrow night and a history test on Friday. I really do not like school, but I am sure I will get through it someday.

miðvikudagur, október 26, 2005

Hmmm

I had my first Microbiology test last week, only 4 more tests to go, I scored a big humongous *A* on it.

It is almost Halloween and we still have to go get costumes for the girls. Gipsy is planning on being a vampire devil or some crazy thing like that and Cheyenne is going be a dead cheerleader.

Lucky me I will get stuck in school on Halloween night, grrrr.

I still HATE History!!!!!

Go See a Movie

We took Cheyenne to Tae Kwon Doe this morning. She is doing pretty well at it so I better not piss her off…

Josh went back home on Thursday, so now we get to move the bedrooms around again. Gipsy will be happy to not have to share a room with Cheyenne any more.

I reupholstered my kitchen chairs last night so they look all pretty now.

I am gonna go hang out at the beach for a little bit this afternoon and then I am gonna hit the books, what an awful thought, I do not care for studying at all.

I recoment the following movie, The 40 Year Old Virgin and you shall laugh out loud until it hurts your tummy!!!

Krazy

I survived my first week back to school. Microbiology is not too bad, hopefully it will stay that way. History on the other hand SUCKS! I hate it, Bret on the other hand thought it was so cool that he went and signed up for that class. Perhaps I should have him committed…

Windshield

Yesterday after I finished working I went to my car and there was a note on my windshield. I got kinda ticked off because I thought perhaps someone had rudely rammed their car into mine. I took a deep breath and reached under the windshield wiper and grabbed the piece of paper stuck under it. Surprise, my car was safe after all, relief!!! It turned out that someone had spotted the IS sticker on the back of the car and left me a note requiring if I was an Icelander and if I was then I should call the number on the note. So I guess I will call her this afternoon.

Thank You Sarah

I am so happy, got a box of Icelandic candy in the mail today. Yummy chocolates, Smarties and black licorice. I just may have died and gone to heaven, sure hope my kids do not find my secret stash. If it was only a dream I will be so totally pissed off when I wake up!

It was Sarah´s Birthday last Friday, Happy Belated Birthday

Back to School in 11 Days

I went and signed up for a Microbiology 130 class yesterday, I was going to take the Microbiology 140 lab also but the school will not offer it until next semester, bummer. Now I have to pick something else, I am thinking about taking something that will bore me to death possibly, it is history 151, world civilization. What do you think? My memory is totally bad so they better not have a bunch of dates to remember.

Kids...

Man, I am so glad this weekend is over. I was busy moving and changing everyone’s bedrooms around. My poor little Cheyenne, her room was so messy and bad that I took all her toys away. It took her less than an hour so see the bright side of life and smile again.
When asked about why she was so happy after loosing everything, her reply was “I won’t have to clean up my room again, because there are no toys to make it messy.”

Ya Hooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

I finished the Anthropology class!!!! Got my final grade an A, Bret got an A too, man are we smart or what!

The girls are off school on Monday so we are going to have a wonderful three day weekend. It is going to be totally busy though because my mother in law is moving in with us again, so we got a lot of rearranging to do.

Happy Birthday to Joshua, he is turning seventeen years old today.

Tae Kwon Do

My baby got her first stripe in Tae Kwon Do last night. Bret took her to class and when they got back they said that Cheyenne did not make it, man she was so upset almost in tears. I felt so bad for her, after getting all my sympathy she finally fessed up. She was just teasing , she showed me her new stripe grinning from ear to ear. I put some pictures in the photo album if you want to take a look.

As for me I got the final exam for my class tonight and I am so stressed about it. I should find out how I did on the book report. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

Book Report

Those three days off went by fast. I spent most of the day studying yesterday. I was planning to turn in my book report tomorrow night in class but however the problem is that I have not written it yet. I wonder if I can crank it out in a day, the only problem is that the book is so darn boring and dry that it makes it hard for me to focus on.

Cheyenne is testing for a stripe in her belt in Tae Kwon Do class this evening, I hope she gets it.

Did You Know That

This is a three day weekend, no school on Monday! Well anyways it is in the USA

Got My Grade

Yeah! I got my grade and I did not totally flunk the test I got 48 out of 55, I think I still missed too many questions but I had the highest score in the class. This means that I am only 55 points away from getting an A for a final grade. I am working on a book report right now worth 40 points so if I do well on it I will not have to study for that last test. Life is good.

mánudagur, ágúst 29, 2005

The Weekend

All the kids did survive their first week of school and have now entered into their second week. Gipsy was kind of bummed about her fifth grade teacher before she started school but now she is really happy; she thinks her teacher is pretty cool, well that might just change when she starts to have a bunch of homework every single day. Cheyenne got in her normal school grove and she comes home and does her homework right away, she is actually working on it a lot of times when I pick her up from school.

The weekend was pretty good. Bret got some work done on his motorcycle, I and the kids were out there helping him by shining up the chrome and cleaning of the rust with aluminum foil and coke, works like a charm.

We went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I liked it but then again I like most of the movies Johnny Deep is in, I think the girls would have liked it too but they were too busy being grounded so they were not allowed to go with us to the theater, they will have to wait for it to come out on DVD. We watched Beauty Shop on DVD if you have not seen it yet I recommend you go rent it because it is an excellent movie.

We got a little beach time in on Sunday morning and then the kids got to play for a little bit in grandma’s pool.

There are only three more weeks left of the Anthropology class we are taking. I still have not found out how I did on the test last week, since the teacher did not send me the results via email. I will however possibly find out this evening.

School is Totally Cool

Wow, summer is already over and my girls are starting school again tomorrow. Cheyenne is very excited about continuing her education but Gipsy is definitely not. She says she does not want to go back to school. I will have to wake them up at six in the morning, I am prepared for some major grumpiness but I am hoping for some excitement. I am sure my first morning back to work will be stressful, since there will be a bunch of new children at the school this year and I will not know half of the names of the kids coming to breakfast but hopefully I will have most of them memorized within a month. Joshua does not start attending school again until this Thursday so he will have a really short first week of school. I hope he will like the school here in Hawaii as much as he liked the one in Missouri.
Today I am really stressing because there is going to be a test at class this evening. I have studied for it but not well enough, hopefully it will not be too hard!!

föstudagur, ágúst 12, 2005

Secret Island

We all went to Secret Island this morning and spent all day there. Secret Island is a small private Island just a short boat ride from Kualoa Ranch. Cheyenne had a blast there. I got roasted on the beach reading Harry Potter instead of my school books. Bret played some volleyball and did some canoeing with the girls. Check out the pictures!!!!

My mother-in-law got here yesterday; it is so nice to have her around again.

The Party

Cheyenne celebrated her 7th Birthday Party today. She had fun and got lots of cool stuff she wanted.
I baked her a Barbie cake again this year because she still really likes Barbies and she asked me to. Her taste is kinda changing more towards MyScene and Bratz dolls. Man, I do not like making them doll cakes at all. Hopefully she will have outgrown complicated cakes by the time she turns eight!!!

I am happy because I got the result from my anthropology test I did last Monday night and I did well. Now I can start stressing about the next test…

I Want My Bell Back

My doorbell got stolen in broad daylight. It made me so angry and then I got more and more pissed off throughout the day because the person who stole my doorbell kept ringing it over and over. It is battery operated so it works even if it is not stuck on my door.

There was a quiz in class on Wednesday night, it was horrible. I just sat there for about five minutes staring at a blank piece of paper. My brain was totally empty I could not think of anything to write. Feeling quite panicked I finally did remember a couple of things so I wrote them down on my blank piece paper. Now I am totally stressing I have got my first test in anthropology on Monday evening and it will be a lot harder than that quiz I took for sure.

Hi I Could Use Your HELP If You Are Related To Me.

I have been studying so much that my brain is getting pretty close to being full. I can tell because it just keeps getting harder and harder to cram knowledge in it. Well I guess it could actually be related to my old age and forgetfulness or something.

One of my assignments coming up is to make a kinship chart of my family and there I need lots of help!!! My family is huge and spread all over the place and I just do not know that many of my relatives. So if you are related to me e-mail me your name, year and date you were born and the same for your spouse and children and what ever other relatives you know send their info to me as well.

I am excited my mother in law is moving to Hawaii next month, Chey got kinda bummed because she will be starting school about that time.

fimmtudagur, júlí 07, 2005

School has Started

I took Cheyenne to the Dentist yesterday to have her cavities fixed. She was very brave the whole time, no tears. Unlike her older sister Chey was not impressed with the gas that was used at all. She didn’t like how it made her dizzy and then a little bit sick.

Bret and I started classes yesterday and we are now studying Anthropology, man that is a hard word I don’t think I will ever be able to pronounce it correctly. Hopefully I can still pass the class.

Bret went deep sea fishing this morning with some friends, spent all day on a boat with out catching a thing.

mánudagur, júlí 04, 2005

Happy 4th of July

Today was pretty fun. We spent most of the day just being lazy and then we packed up and went down to the beach. After we got there and got all set up we continued being lazy. Since I was the DD I behaved well and drank only soda all day, Bret enjoyed drinking malted beverages. Our children pretty much split as soon as we got to the beach. They got in the water and stayed in it until it started to get dark and their mean parents demanded that they would get out and dry off. The firework show started about 8:30 and it was awesome. Check out the pictures that we took.

Happy 4th and Happy Birthday Una.

Pizza! Pizza!

Man! It sure sucks being a dog in this family...

I did have to go get a MMR shot, Ouch! Guess I got lucky though because the nurse said that this shot made people sick a lot of times and I am not sick, well not yet anyways. Knock on Wood... Well at least I won't be able to catch the measles any more.

Josh will be arriving here on the 11th and staying for almost a month. His sisters are really happy about him coming out for a visit.

We went futon shopping yesterday and little Chey came along. She had brought her money because she wanted to buy something at the store. After looking around in the toy section and finding most things to expensive for her budget she decided she would just go to the Food Court instead. We told her that would be ok and so there we went.
As we opened to doors to go in Chey announced this to us. You have to buy your own food with your own money because if I spend my money then I won’t be able to buy myself anything to eat.
She went straight to Anthony’s Pizza, so she could buy her favorite meal. As she was sitting at the table she told us how much money she spent on her pizza, three dollars but she got eleven cents back from the lady. I had just given her three dollars earlier for her allowance since she had been good about keeping her room clean and doing her chores around the house. Wow, her dad said. You just spent all your allowance on one slice of cheese pizza; it took you all week to earn that money. After all that cleaning and putting things up that you did all week long and now you just bought pizza for all that money you made. Do you really think it was worth it?
She didn’t even have to think about the answer to that question. Obviously she thought that was a pretty stupid question, she shrugged, gave her dad a look and took a big bite out of her pizza slice. Didn’t he know anything? This is pizza after all and yes she most definitely thought it was worth it.

The Cat is Back

Sweet Lightning has found her way home. Kids were really happy to see her and she was really happy to see her food bowl. She was pretty hungry, guess she didn’t catch many birds or mice while she was gone.

My Hubby is volunteering at the Taste of Honolulu this evening. When I spoke with him earlier he was busy checking ID cards making sure there was no underage drinking going on. I didn’t like people doing that when I was underage, just a couple of years ago!

A part of my prep process to register for college in Hawaii was getting a Tuberculosis test done and a blood test to make sure my MMR is still good since I only got one of those instead of two like most people. It hurt!!! Sure hope I won’t have to get a shot.

miðvikudagur, júní 22, 2005

Today Wednesday

I took my girls in to see Doctor Terror who is also known as the Dentist. My younger one needs two molars fixed and possibly braces when she gets a little older. My older one has no cavities so she left the dentist with a bright white Colgate smile.

Sweet Lightning the Cat has gone missing. No one has seen or heard from her since this Monday. Hopefully she will find her way back home to her little girl that misses her a lot soon. Lady the dog misses her a lot too.

Weekends are Fun

The weekend was full of fun. We went to the theater and saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith it was good. For Fathers Day we went to see Shark Boy and Volcano Girl in 3D. That movie sucked horribly; do not waste your time or money on that thing unless you have kids. If the little critters twist your arm and demand to see it, you should make sure you wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it only after it goes from New Releases into the cheap old film category and even then you might be paying way too much.

We went out on the boat on Saturday and spent most of the day out on the Sandbar enjoying the sea and sunshine. The water was deeper than usual because of the high tide, the girls had fun jumping off the boat and floating in the water on top of their life west’s. After a lot of splashing fun Bret took us over to Chinaman’s Hat. The Trade Winds were blowing well causing the ocean to be pretty choppy with lots of waves. The boat was skipping across the water hitting a couple of big waves that caused me and my kids to turn a little green. When it was time to go back home the girls took turns learning how to operate the boat and they liked going really, really fast.

Congratz ya all

Hey, hey all ya Icelanders out there, Happy Independence day to us. Happy 12th Anniversary to me and my Hubby.

I am going to be painting with my daughter in a few moments. She carefully picked out her favorite pink and purple color for her brand spanking new corner-shelf’s that we just made her with our own little two hands, ok there were two of us so let’s make that little four hands. The cat might get bummed because she has claimed her favorite shelf to lie on, so if she decides to lay on it before it dries, well all I can say it would be a total Kodak moment. Meow!!!

I will be enjoying both the sunshine and The Taking, a book by Dean Koontz, on the beach this morning; however it will be behind some sort of a protection since I managed to get burnt yesterday.

miðvikudagur, júní 15, 2005

Beach

I think since it is so nice outside this morning, that the beach is the most fantastic place to go to. Going, going, gone...

Fishing

Went to the movies the other night and saw Amityville Horror. It was a pretty good flick to watch and definitely a lot better than the previous one from 1979. Ryan Reynolds has a hot "bod" and it was a true pleasure to look upon, yummy!

I took my girls and one of their friends to a Keiki Fishing Tournament, (Keiki means Child in Hawaiian) it was pretty interesting they each got to use a bamboo pole witch had a fishing-line tied off to the top, and they had to use bread to bait a tiny hook. My 6 year old was not at all impressed with the whole fishing business and to make it a little less boring she used her pole to splash in the water and it made all the fish rush away in fear for their life's. This did not go over too well with her big sister who thought the fish were being extremely rude, they kept stealing her bait and not bite down on the hook like they were supposed to do. She claimed all fish are stupid and little sisters are mean to interrupt a serious thing like catching a fish. Neither of them caught any thing. I think it would have been a lot more fun if it would have been "real" fishing deal. But then again if you have about 100 kids each armed with a giant fishing hook... Run for your dear life!!!!!!!!

School is out

I will be counting my gray hairs every day, as I am sure my daughters will be providing lots of growth for them this summer, what a bummer.
They started this morning by watching Mr.Rogers on TV, he ranks right up there with Barney the purple dinosaur in my book. Bling! Shoot I thing I just found another gray one... Why do most all children enjoy watching totally irritating TV programs?
I can remember back in the day when all I had to watch was an hour on Sunday nights and if I was lucky Tom and Jerry came on 5 min before the evening news on weekdays. Oh well I guess I will just have to keep finding funky hair colors to put in my hair to hide the gray ones, god forbid if someone could actually see how old I am by looking at my hair.
